News from the owners of Elven Forest
Most of you already know this but for those of you who are new, here are some recent events.
Voy Sands, the prior owner and creator of our beautiful forest had to leave due to her RL commitments. A group of us decided to buy the sims (Blossom and Jaded Wings) and preserve her creation. The group of partners/owners are Boaz Sands, Chanderlina Beeswing, Delain Cannuci and Earendil Lowenhart. Along with the support from donations so generously given by members we have been able to preserve the forest.
Our intent is to preserve the forest as close as we can to Voy's original creation. With that being said there may be small additions, replacements, etc. which we will do in order to lower the prim count, add features that the members have expressed a desire to have or items we think will benefit the forest in general. Your input is always welcome but of course the final decision on these types of things will be at the discretion of the owner/partners and in the best interest of the forest as a whole. Some of you have offered to give us items to put in the forest and we certainly will consider them, but please be aware that our available prims are limited. If your item or idea is not used it may be because of those prim constraints.
Additions, deletions, changes and info on Blossom
* The blossom market was rearranged some to make all the shops visible from the landing point. A few more shops were also added.
* Delain created a beautiful new mer pond area, which has already attracted new mer to the sim. If you haven't seen it yet go take a look. It is located in the water in front of the beach.
* The beach house was deleted as it appeared that very few people ever used it and it freed up some prims for the mer area.
* A dance cuddle area replaced the tentacle cave area
* An extra caravan has been temporarily placed at the beach. The new one has less prims but we are still undecided as to which caravan will be kept as we will only have one caravan there.
Additions, deletions, changes and info on Jaded Wings
* When we purchased Jaded Wings there was a small market there. As most of the stalls were empty we removed them leaving only two merchant stalls there. We don't intend on adding any more shops there.
* We have added a drum circle, the aurora lights & comets.
* Some of the grass was replaced with lower prim grasses. Several trees were replaced with lower prim trees. Also some sitting areas and animals around the drum circle were added. People seem to be really enjoying the new drum circle so far. Please note that available prims on Jaded wings are very low, therefore we have blocked rezzing on that sim for now.

Elven Forest Market
If you haven't already taken the time to check out the merchants in our market, you really should. There are some fantastic treasures for sale there. Keep in mind that the Forest is supported not only by your generous donations but also by income from the market rentals. Please support our local market merchants as often as you can.
Future editions will feature a selected merchant as well as any new releases by our merchants. This will also be the section where you can find out about special offers, discounts and gifts provided by our merchants.

Upcoming Events
Welcome to the event section of the newsletter! There is nothing like a little fun and frivolity to add to the magic of the Forest. In the past, we have had poetry readings, photo contests, dances and other events but many of the member driven events stopped long ago. We're hoping that events at the forest are something that we can rekindle with the help and talents of the Elven Forest members and our two event coordinators: ClaudiaMarja Magic and Tamzin Xigalia.
You may also notice seasonal decorations changing throughout the forest as the autumn and winter seasons roll through. We are fortunate this year to have Tamzin taking care of seasonal decorations for us. Thank you Tamzin!
If you have ideas for an event, please send your suggestions to "Tamzin Xigalia" with the subject prefix "ELVEN FOREST EVENTS:". We would love to hear from you!
CONTEST!
Hello All!!
The Halloween Pixie has once again visited Elven Forest and has left behind sticky spider webs, tomb stones and pumpkins galore. If your unlucky enough, you may even hear the voices of the dead on the breeze.
As the Halloween Pixie only visits for a short time and will be along again to uproot the pumpkins and send the dead back home, we at Elven thought it would be a good opportunity for a photo contest. The theme for this contest will be Autumn (which includes, Halloween and Thanksgiving) and must be taken at Blossom or Jaded. (if the picture does not meet these 2 rules it will be taken out of the contest)
Each person may submit 1, full perm picture to Tamzin Xigalia who will display / distribute to the judges. Please name the texture as follows; EFAUTUMN*YOUR NAME* (for easy reference)
If you fear the texture has not been received, pleased contact Tamzin via NC for conformation.
These pictures will be judged by 3 of the Elven Guards. The contest will run from 4th ~ 24th @ 12pm SLT. The winners will be announced on 30th October. They will be posted on this website (if you would prefer not to have them on the web, just let us know when you submit them).
*Prizes*
There will be 1 winner and 2 runners up;
- 1st prize ~ 1000L$ cash prize
- 2nd prize ~ 500 gift card to use at Simply Fae (male AV's will get the 500 in L$'s)
- 3rd prize ~ 250 gift card to use at Simply Fae (male AV's will get the 250 in L$'s)
